Certification
Anyone can translate the words. Only a licensed court translator can sign for them.
A regular translation converts the text. A certified one goes further: it is signed by an official court translator who attests that the content is a complete and accurate rendering of the original — and who is professionally and legally accountable for that statement.
Courts, notarial offices, universities, and foreign embassies in North Macedonia accept only translations bearing a licensed translator's certification. That licence is issued by the Ministry of Justice — without it a translation is not legally valid, regardless of language skill.
The office
The office is on Vladimir Komarov in Aerodrom, Skopje. Most documents arrive as a phone photo before ten in the morning — a diploma held flat on a kitchen table, a contract shot on a car bonnet outside a notary's office.
The text is translated and read back, the certification statement is added, signed, and stamped. The finished translation is with the client the same afternoon.
